America's Boating Club - Southeastern New England will hold their annual Fall Conference during the weekend of 25-27 October, in Hyannis, MA. The Fall Conference will span all day SATURDAY. It will emphasize education and enjoyment, inviting all members to participate, not just squadron and district officers..
Conference Highlights include
- Cape Cod sightseeing on Friday, Oct. 25
- Guest speaker Dr Jennifer Francis will deliver her presentation titled "Rough Weather Ahead: How Climate Change Is Making Our Weather More Extreme."
- Guest speaker Samantha Gray, a interpretive park ranger at the Cape Cod canal will present "Insight into the Rich History, Fascinating Features, & Navigation Operations of the Cape Cod Canal"
- Educational Program Presentations including:
- "Charts have Changed – You Need to Know!" Charts as you know them have gone away, what to do instead by P/V/C Bob Sweet, SN.
- "America's Boating Club On-Line Learning Program", R/C Barbara Herrmann, SN-IN. How the on-line courses and seminars offered via the National Education Department's Outreach Committee can further the educational success of squadrons and clubs.
- "Seamanship is out, Piloting is going. What is new and upcoming in the ABC/USPS Classroom Curriculum" An overview of the current status and upcoming changes in America's Boating Club courses. Asst DEO Dick Moore, SN-IN and DEO Wayne Lambert, AP
